Outsourcing of a business division

Initial situation: As part of a reorganisation, a business unit with around 40 employees and a turnover of approximately EUR 50 million was to be outsourced to a partner company. The unit comprised service offerings and platforms in the entertainment sector, as well as a comprehensive email and contract management portal.

Objective: Efficient transfer of tasks and responsibilities, optimisation of operational processes, increased cost-effectiveness and improved margins.

Result: The outsourcing was successfully implemented, cost savings of over EUR 3 million per year were achieved, margins were increased from 35% to 40%, and the product range was expanded with modern solutions. The partnership between the client and the partner company continues to this day, demonstrating the sustainability of the project.

The project tasks included a detailed analysis and documentation of the existing product and system landscape, as well as the processes and role profiles of the business unit to be outsourced. Building on this, an optimisation scenario for products and processes was developed. In addition, we provided support and advice during the contract negotiations through to their conclusion. The migration of tasks from the client to the partner company was carefully coordinated, and the teams on both sides were supported throughout the change process. A single point of contact ensured day-to-day interface management between the companies. In parallel, short- and medium-term business planning was drawn up, KPIs for performance measurement were implemented, and partner management was established. The result was a smooth and timely transfer of tasks, system and product responsibilities, combined with significant cost savings, margin increases and a sustainable optimisation of the product portfolio.
