Initial situation: Following the spin-off from a large corporate group, the IT landscape had evolved over time and was complex and fragmented. Redundancies, high costs and a lack of transparency were hindering strategic IT decisions.
Objective: To reduce complexity, cut costs and create a global, unified enterprise architecture that is future-proof and flexible.
Result: A consistent enterprise architecture strategy was established, binding architecture guidelines were developed, redundancies were eliminated and IT complexity was sustainably reduced.
The IT system landscape was first comprehensively analysed to identify weaknesses and redundancies. On this basis, the enterprise architecture was adapted to modern technologies, including cloud services, microservices and data lake concepts. In close collaboration with the IT departments, guidelines were defined to standardise future decisions and facilitate the integration of new solutions. The introduction of structured IT architecture management increased flexibility, reduced technical debt and created a robust foundation for future business requirements.
